Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to all gentlemen, 18 years of age and older, who are a practical Catholic, in union with the Holy See, and who practice the precepts of the Church. You do not have to purchase the insurance of the Order to become a member. You are considered a Brother Knight upon completion of your First Degree. Upon completion of your Fourth Degree, you will be referred to as a Worthy Sir Knight.

Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.
There are four degrees in the Knights: First, Second, Third, and Fourth. Each degree ceremony imparts a lesson on the Order's core virtues of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. In order to hold an officership within the Order, you must be atleast a third-degree member.
